Gildan Expands in Barbados

Barbados is proud to be the home of Gildan Active Wear, a company that boasts of being the number one apparel manufacturer. 
Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce And Small Business Development, Donville Inniss says the Canadian company has grown over the years, recording a number of successes.
He says Gildan is classed as one of the largest employers in Honduras and is leading the way by exporting garments to China. He says this is a feat that must be saluted and reiterates the importance of the international business sector to Barbados.


Gildan opened a second location in Barbados at its current site at Newton, Christ Church. President, Michael Hoffman says the company last year produced and sold 800 million garments and recorded sales of 2.18 billion US dollars. Overall, he is pleased with the expansion of the company, noting Gildan is committed to Barbados.
