Research firm Global News Matters: T&T a great place to do business

When a country’s economy is on a downward slope, businesses tend to search for other markets. Venturing into a new market means that factors such as country dynamics, industry benchmark, politics and legal framework must be looked at, among other factors. This research can be time consuming, especially if the data is needed immediately, Companies tend to outsource the research needed.

Global News Matters is one such company which specialises in Caribbean market Intelligence.

Managing director Melissa Marchand said T&T is located at the doorstep of the Latin American market of 580 million consumers. Referring specifically to Angostura Bitters, she said there is no country in the world that doesn’t sell the product.

“T&T has logistic systems and structures in place to reach the world market. T&T is a way into Latin America and as a way from Latin America to the rest of the world.”

Global Matters has been working in the Caribbean since 2004 and has been doing analysis on what has been “moving the markets,” seeing opportunities and the risks.

“We have other products that are subscription-based and are customised and paid for by the company, costed on a case by case basis depending on what they are looking for. Our subscription-based publication is US$2,154 per year,” she said.
